Introducing WNY STEM Hub 2020 BOARD MEMBER ADDITIONS

Ms. Lisa Brosnik

 

         Lisa is a STEM teacher at Salamanca City Central School District, an education consultant with Science Take Out, WOZEd, Past President of STANYS, and a member of the Executive Committee. She is a New York State Master Teacher Emeritus and holds a M.Ed. in science education from SUNY at Buffalo. Lisa believes that all students deserve educational experiences that provide them with a strong foundation for life-long success.

Ms. Ivy Diggs-Washington

       

          Ivy is the Director of Education, Employment and Training for the Buffalo Urban League. Over the last 30 years she has been a Program Project Associate at Buffalo State; the Director of Programs at Everywoman Opportunity; the Executive Director of Kensington Bailey Neighborhood Housing Services; and a Program Director at Child and Family Services. Ivy has a BA from the University of Pittsburgh with duel majors in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Anthropology and a MA in Social Policy from SUNY, Empire State college.

Ms. Joan Geary, PMP

         Joan is the Sr. Program Development Manager of Linde (formerly Praxair), has a degree in chemistry and works in the Ceramic Membranes Systems technology group. Throughout her career she has been an active volunteer and more recently, shares her passion for science as the lead coordinator for the Linde STEAM Team, that brings STEAM education into the WNY community. Joan is an active participant and sponsor for the Erie county fairs I-Hub, Buffalo Museum of Science bubble fest and the Thunder of Niagara Air Show.

Ms. Susan Johnson Esq.

             

             Susan works as the Director of Employee & Labor Relations at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a human resources professional in the health care industry, she sees the need to encourage students to explore the multitude of career opportunities with STEM interests and skills. Susan is looking forward to contributing to the development of STEM passion in students of all backgrounds as this is an essential step to building a diverse workforce in Western New York. She believes STEM disciplines build a foundation for successful careers.

Ms. Robin Selino, CPA

        Robin is Senior Manager at Arcara, Zucarelli, Lenda and Assoc., as a Certified Public Accountant. She holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo. Robin has more than 35 years of leadership experience with various types of businesses ranging from non-profits, schools, service businesses, retail and marketing. She has more than 20 years of leadership in volunteerism, fundraising and community engagement.

Dr. Hank Stopinski

         

          Dr. Stopinski is the Superintendent of Schools in the Royalton-Hartland Central School District in Niagara County. He has served in public education for over 30 years, successfully serving rural, urban and suburban communities. Hank has been recognized as a National Teacher of the Year, Vermont Principal of the Year, and the Williamsville North Wall of Fame recipient. He holds a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University.
